Manners in Church |
The celebration of the Liturgy is a place where all are welcomed, and where everyone should be put at ease and made to feel part of the celebration. In Church, of all places, we need to put forth our best manners to promote hospitality. |

Got Rosaries? |
| If you have any rosaries lying around your home and do not use them, we would be happy to place them in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel for people to use when they come to make a visit.
Thank you for your overwhelming response to our “share a rosary” campaign. Due to your generosity, we were able to send 25 rosaries to our soldiers in Iraq, 15 rosaries to a convent in Fiji and 5 rosaries to El Salvador. We still have rosaries available in the Eucharistic Chapel for those who need one. Keep up the great work in donating rosaries to the church. |

Piece of Peace and Justice |
| According to “The New Republic,” the earth’s population is expected to grow to 9 billion by 2050, an increase of 2 billion over the present. One of the concerns of providing for this increase is the availability (and price) of food. Some of the ideas mentioned in the article to address this problem are to boost crop yields by using fertilizers and educating and assisting subsistence farmers through better financing (think, micro-loans) so that they may use better methods. Also decreasing the wasting of food; possibly a change of food preference, (fewer fish, as they are depleted, more vegetable protein to replace meat). The speculation in foodstuffs should also be controlled, as mentioned in a Newsweek article, so that food supply is not threatened by an artificial shortage. This happened last year with grains like rice. This concern over food availability in the near future has apparently motivated China to buy arable land in other poor countries, so that their food needs may be supplied.
